Post Cam Update

What the hell is taking so long !?
Well found out the other day that my job got bumped for a big job.
The big job was to make cams for the Honda race team in Europe.
They have finished that now, and are back to my job. They say 1 more week and then it will be complete, and then shipped.
I Will update, when I have more.....

sorry i must be slow

whats goin on here?
is it that you're goin to sell them
or they are in developement in about a week?

not to make things exciting but they should give us a some gains
the engine mods begin!
o and also this is what a camshafts does in a very simple way
http://www.howstuffworks.com/engine-cam2.htm
you should check out the whole website of howstuffworks.com very informative on all engine parts including transmission.
http://www.howstuffworks.com/question229.htm
vtec's does its job through cams other parts are involved but the cams are the most involved.

The idea was born around June-July 2000

Cams were sent to Europe for R&D and all that crap around August 2000

Projected Due Date was January 2001. Fair enough, 5 months of R&D sounds reasonable.

Go look up top, the start date of this thread is February 2001. It was supposedly one week from then. Next month later it was "one more week", another two months later it was still "one more week", damn I want to loan a car from these guys... they'll never get it back from me, because I'll just tell em I'll give it back to them in one week.

Where are we now? 8 months after they said one week. Con-****ing-gradulations.

<sigh>

They've jerked us around like a damn tether ball. This kind of service is bull****.

This is the first time I have heard about this am project. So what are the performance gains? And what is the price?

How is it possible to know what performance gains out of a project that hasn't even been tested that there have been no previous similar products like it for this engine, or even this family of engines.

Who know's, I'm no expert, but my guess is somewhere between 5 and 15 hp at peak, I'm pretty sure that (because of the way that cams work) they'll net close to no hp gain at lower rpm's. As for pricing? stock ones cost what? $200-$250 apiece? So I'm guessing a set of two would be $500-$700...

Take it all with a grain of salt.

Umm, here's the thing. the thing about the cams, Labor will be a *****. 2nd, if you have something wrong with your engine, you're gonig to have a harder time with warranty on this one i'd say.

You're talking to an owner with 50,100 miles on his car.

Basically, I give a rats ass about warranty.
