CAI, is it worth it?

CAI, is it worth it?
I was planning on getting a AEM CAI, but now i'm having second thoughts. Lot of people say that its loud and other than that it only adds about 4 hp. Is it really worth it cause it doesn't seem like it.

I was wondering the same thing. I want to get a CAI but I am having seconds thoughts too. The noise that the TL makes, is it that much of a difference? I mean, it is not going to sound like a mustang gt is it? I would, along with others, would like to have everyones opinion. Thanks guys,

AEM cold air intakes should give a lot more than 4 hp and a lil more torque. I am not familiar with the dynamics of the TL yet, but on most other hondas, a CAI TOGETHER with headers and exhaust should be around 10 or 11 hp. If what that guy said about the V6 accord at 9 hp gain, i wouldn't be surprised if 11 is possible since our engine is bigger.

I've heard the short ram actually can decrease performance. Once the engine warms up the air in the engine bay is very hot... so the filter is sucking in more air, but its all hot air. A friend of mine took his short ram out of his TL and put the stock one back on with a Comptech drop in filter because he felt he lost performance.
But around where I live CAI is only plausible during summer, even then it rains plenty.
How dirty are your guys' CAI filters? How often do you clean it? How much dirt is under the fender where the filter sits? When I took out my resonator I say dirt CAKED all under there... I'm running my CAI short ram until someone can convince me the dirt doesn't hurt!
