Cai should i install or pay for the install?
Hey guys my poor baby(after being attacked by a set of killer house keys) will be coming out the bodyshop. It has been there for a month and a half , Now the insurance company minus my 300$ deductable has foot the bill to have my whole car painted ,But while it was away my cai came in . Now me in the past has put them on my other cars nothing spectacular i know but now with this one im a lil cautious since im aware i have to take off my newly painted front bumper to do so. So my question is the install easy and straight forward enough that i should do it on my own without f_c_ing anything up or should i take it to the local speed shop and demand they not harm a hair on my baby? or do i take it to acura and chace thoose idiots of scrathing her up?
just so ya know 2000tl firepepper red non navi and the intake is aem cai

You waited this long for the paint job, my suggestion is wait for at least a month until that paint seals properly, I know is not too hard to remove the bumper but even a expert with a freshly painted car can scratch it and I know you're not gonna be happy.
Is up to you in the end. Good luck, post some pictures.

The bumper removal isnt bad at all. I saw someone do it once and I was able to do it myself with ease the next time. Putting it back one the first time I needed someone to help but every other time I was able to do it all by myself.

you dont NEED to remove bumper to install the CAI...just remove stock filter and youll have a big hole on which to throw the piping, then work from under the car to do the rest... you'll have to remove that black plastic cover under or just a part of it...
this is how my friend did it, i was with him...i had no clue what he was doing, just that he didnt remove bumper and did all i mentioned above.

You don't have to remove the bumper. I don't know why people keep telling others to remove it. I installed mine in under an hour without even touching the bumper. You have full access through the engine bay to take out the stock airbox, then lift up the car, flip down the splash guard and take off the resonator. Put the CAI, bolt in, done.

I have done it both ways, removing the bumper is a easier choice.

Do your decently mechnically inclined, do it yourself, otherwise, get it installed. I got mine because I wasn't familar with the car yet.

Because removing the bumper is easier then jacking up the car, taking the wheel off, then removing fender trim to get at the resonator box. Even if you don't remove the wheel, it's still a pain to get at the bolt and more dangerous since you have the car jacked up.
