a/c question

hey peoples, I feel like my car is falling apart. Last night it stormed in Houston, floods everywhere and trees falling everywhere. I was driving to meet up my parents and all of a sudden I run into a street full of flooded water. I didnt realize water was everywhere because the street is dark but I hit the water going about 40 miles an hr. BOOM! my brake light automatically pops on. Thinking nothing of it because that light always comes on. Well my windows start to frost up and once I hit the defrost button nothing happens. well air blows but it wasnt cold. I had to pull over to see if my air was working. i turn off the defroster and just switch to ac and nothing. it's just blowing warm air. i drove the car earlier in the morning and ac was fine. do yall think it was because of the water i drove through? any advice on what to do? what happened? i let the car dry this morning and still the ac is blowing warm air. thanks guys for any advice.

might want to check your fuses, all that water might have caused a short causing the fuse to blow?

quite possible. if i recall, the a/c clutch is low enough to the ground that driving through water like you described could have gotten it wet. something similiar happened on my old taurus. the electrical connector got wet, blew a fuse out.

Question changing the fuse?

So if I need to change the fuse because it got shorted out or what not then how do I go about doing it?

Because this isn't the first time this has happened to me and the last time I took it to the dealership and they charged me $6.00 for the fuse and $80.00 for the damned labor and if I could go without paying for the labor this time that would be awesome... so someone help me please..... thx

Where is the fuse that I change?

I looked in the owner's manual and saw only one fuse related to the air conditioner and it was on the driver's side interior panel and it was fine... I thought the fuse was under the hood somewhere but I didn't see it labled in the fuse box under the hood... help? thanks
