A/C Not Cold in Day but cold at Night???
Hey guys, I just replaced my AC compressor and my drier unit on my 2003 TL-s. The Problem I was having was a leaky compressor so I got that replaced and also to be safe the drier was also changed.
That was a month ago, For the past 2 days it been like 90 here and I noticed during the day the AC was not blowing cold air ( Settings: AC ON 60 AUTO OFF FAN ON FULL BLAST). When I hit the AC on button, the Compressor kicks in the two fans upfront start running and "COOL" air starts coming out. Now the air that's coming out just feels a tad bit cooler than the FAN air with NO AC, there is a difference but barely noticeable to my passengers. I can feel the system running correctly but my air output is "COOL" to where near what it used to be at or how Cold it felt in a buddy's 01 TL. I left the AC running for 30 minutes and didnt even notice a differnce i was still sweating in my car.
At night the AC seems to run fine, and I have no complaints its just it the day it doesn't feel cold at all.
I got a leak test and system check along with refrigerant a month ago, I really didn't get a chance to test the AC until 2 days ago since it got so warm.
Could there be leaks that were not detected a month ago?? Should I bring it back for a verification of the refrigerant level?

something is wrong, back to the shop it goes
SITTING- if you are not moving its not going to get really cold- needs airflow thru its radiaitor to `deheat` the air
They should have leak tested by cking hold full vacuum for 30 minutes- but things happen-
you can take a rock hit to the ac condensor in front of the car radiator- and lose freon
Is the compressor kicking on with the pass side fan?
You can see its middle part spinning when its On
Could be an evap valve- someone had that this week
Look at cabin filter area for a frozen/iced over outside ther tube- metal tube

anything below 68 wont make it blow colder or make cold faster on the full auto temp systems
setting it at 60 for 30 minutes while you are sweating just puts the thermostat in a postition it cant fulfill and forces the compressor to run full time- no break like it is used to getting to maintain its own cool~
and the cabin temp runs off 2 sensors, one under steering wheel and the other on dash
Not the best way to tell what the cabin temp really is~
