I noticed that when I am at a light and the A/C kicks in it really kicks in - the first couple of times I thought someone had bumped me.

Is this normal? On my old Maxima I could hear the engine speed change but the car didn't do anything.

 

Yeah, that happened to me a few times. Then I learned to step on the brake harder at a red light and everything is cool.

 

Yep, the thing caught me unaware was when I had the heat on and got the boot that sent me forward a few inches. Took me by surprise until I realized the AC compressor was kicking on. I'll run my heat with the AC OFF option most of the time just to avoid that lurch.

 

Its normal I forget the reason why you can do a search on this topic. Someone will give you the correct answer but its normal.
I don't notice or its not doing it anymore after owning the car for 2yrs. I use the A/C in my car alot during most of the year like today its 70 in Washington in Jan. I don't drive with the windows down much so I use the A/C alot or have the sunroof tilted or open.

the climate control in TL is very smart...i believe they do have sensors to detect the temp and the humidity inside the car...

when u drive with full auto, it will adjust automatically even u r using heat...sometimes A/C will kick in for a few second to adjust the interior humidity to aviod mist on the glass...
