A/C just took a dump, any ideas?
So, the air on the '03' just went. I Drove the car this morning and the air worked fine. Got in this afternoon and turned the car on, then the air and the screen displayed it as "auto", yet nothing came out of the vents, although the fan sounded like it was working. Then a few seconds later the fan system shut itself off but the screen still showed "auto", and still nothing comes out of any vents. I tried switching all of the options (full auto, auto, air vents, or floor, hot air or cold air, etc...) and still nothing comes out.
I then proceeded to do a search on here to see if anybody has experienced a similar issue, but could not find a straight forward answer to what the issue might be. That's why I am starting this thread.
Thus far, I have checked all of the fuses, the little white thing that has two screws and a connector that is found under the passenger side dash. I do not know what else to check.....I also read on here somewhere to hold auto and off buttons and a error code shall come up in between the "88" flashing. I did this 4 times. The first time I received the bottom and the left bottom lines from the right most 8, of the flashing "88", which formed an "L". The next 3 times I received a code that was just the bottom line of the right most 8 from the flashing "88". However I have NO IDEA what these codes mean.....
I have absolutely no idea what to check next, so any ideas and/or info would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Diagrams or pictures is of great help when checking a part.
Oh, and the outside temperature gauge read 98 degrees here in south Florida today, so no rush I guess.

Thanks. I just unplugged EVERY connector underneath the passenger side dash and cleaned them up by blowing into them and using a rag, and then put them all back. At the moment it is working.
However, any ideas if it fails again.

did you remove the cabin air filters and access the blower motor itself?
the power connector lead for it is short and can get loose- there is a $15 kit with longer wires you can buy at acura
Can cause the connector to burn! or melt.
Same part is used on my honda 2 wheeler and it was burnt and wires loose!
there is also a resistor on the mount for the blower- check thats not burnt
When running ac on fan speed 5 it takes a LOT of electricity, makes a lot of heat,,,everything must be clean and secure fit to keep working
Passengers have been known to dislodge wiring harness and ac drain tubes with feet~
Use CRC electrical contact cleaner or similar to get dirt out of connectors

It is either the sub harness or the transistor or both. Mines broken too, i need to take it to the dealer to get it fixed or do it myself. I took out my transistor today and looked at it but i cant tell if its bad or not. I havent gotten a chance to check out the sub harness to see if the wires are melted or not. Is it easy to replace the sub harness?
