bypass valve

bypass valve

when you put cold air intake or any other intake for that matter,is it necessary to put a bypass valve?

Nope. Helps in the event you drive your car into a lake or a very deep pool of water, high enough to submerge the filter.

Is it possible for snow to cause an issue for the air filter, if you do not have a by-pass valve?

no. like NSXNEXT said, unless you submerge your filter, you won't have to worry about it.

dont get one. they take away power and i heard horror stories about them... like getting stuck in the TB... not good

You'd cut that perfecly round beautifully sparkling tube that cost you $230 and mount this NASTY-looking black thing so that you loose power? which, by the way, is exactly what you bought it for. Atleast the positive part is after this mod you can go dive in dirt puddles of city acid rainwater or play "italian Job" in the sewer waters
