Question Buzzing sound after startup--normal?

Each time I start my TL-S there is a momentary (less than a second) single buzzing sound emanating from the front shortly after the car has started up (usually when I put the gear into drive); can anyone here please tell me what it is and whether or not it's normal? My guess is that it's the ABS module initializing everytime the vehicle is started, but I want to be sure first so that if indeed the buzzing sound isn't normal I will have some info so that the dealer won't blow me off by saying that it is and that it happens with every TL-S.

Thanks!

Tony

I've got the same sound...

...almost sounds like a hydrolic adjustment of some kind.

I am an educated man...

I think that would be hydraulic...

And to think that I once won a spelling bee.

It's the ABS system - it's in the Owner's Manual.

I also have the same

I was told that it was the ABS, but I asked a couple of friends who had Honda Accords, with ABS, they have never heard of it.. I hear two buzzing sounds, one after 30-40 feet after I start moving, the second one is after a few hundred feet... It is exactly as yo guys describe.. buzzing sound, less than a sec..

any advice?

Yeah ignore it, as Road Rage said, its your ABS performing its self test. You may also feel a slight vibration in your brake pedal as well. Its supposed to do that, and my Accord does the same thing.

Thanks, all! That's what I figured, just that for whatever reason I didn't notice it the first day but somehow noticed it yesterday. Same thing happened when I had my GSR; weird thing is that my Tahoe has ABS and I don't hear any ABS stuff initializing...must be the roar of 8 cylinders blocking the sound out everytime I drive off!

Funny how after you get over being excited over driving your new car and start going through the normal routine of driving it, you start noticing lots of little things about your car, especially _after_ you've already driven it off the dealer lot.
