Hi folks,
I'm trying to help my dad buy a used TL and he doesn't want to pay more than 27K (out the door). Is this possible? What is a reasonable price to get a TL these days? He doesn't care what year as long as it has decent low mileage on it. Thanks.

Yeah, get a NEW '01. I got my new '01 w/ NAV for $28.3k. Minus $2k for the NAV and you'll be at $26.3k. Just do a little better negotiating than me and shell out a few extra bills for a brand NEW TL.
Yeah go for the new TL. YOu should be looking at the same price. But I don't know what kind of taxes you have there. After many used cars, i would not buy one now. I have had bad luck with transmissions going out on all my used cars.
Go for the new one and shell out not more then 1K.

Yet, you should be able to get a brand new one for that. Just be sure that you don't get a demo!
And BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE 2000 model year!!! They have some bugs with the ECU computer. It's not a really big issue but freaky annoying!!! It drives me CRAZY, and I am not the only one who have that problem..... Just be careful.... good luck.

First of all, are most of you guys quoting out the door prices or just the price and then you have to add all the other stuff? If not, are you then actually buying the car under invoice? I just checked edmunds and invoice was at 27.8K (w/navi). My dad is deciding between a Maxima and TL right now ( I know, I know, I don't want to add more fuel to the fire, so spare me) but I'd rather get him a TL cuz we already have a Max. Any tips on negotiating for a low price? Thank for all your input.

You don't have to add anything else to the car. THere are no options on TL except navi. If you are talking accessories, it shouldn' be that much extra anyway. few hundreds. except the body kit. Originally posted by MikeC70:

You can get the car probably around 27k out the door without navi. with navi, you are looking at 29k imo.
He may have to shell out 1K more AT MOST.
