Buying A Remote On Ebay
I'd like to buy another remote fob but the dealer privce is high. There are many for sale on Ebay much cheaper. The question is: how do I know which fob to buy? Thanks.

You need to make sure the FCC ID matches your current remote (look on the back of your fob, there will be a number like E4EG8D-444H-A). Also, make sure you get the correct fob number for your seats (that is, if you use the fobs to switch between the two memory seating positions - driver 1 and driver 2). The dealer will usually program these for you for free (they did for me), but it’s easy enough that anyone could do it at home. Also they said you can only have 2 remotes per car (and I think up to 5 keys). Dunno how true that is, but it's what they said.

13. Within 10 sec, aim the transmitters whos codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stores. Make sure you program all transmitters you want working within 10 seconds of each other. Ones not included in this programming will no longer work.

15. Confirm proper operation with the new codes.
