buying h&r springs and shocks today, need some quick help!
i am about to buy a set of h&r sport springs and tokico illumina shocks, but i was thinking it will be too much drop. i dont want 1.75
I looked at the h&r site, they claim 1.75. the guy i am buying it from insists it will be 1.4 in front and slightly less in rear. i have stock rims and was wondering what to REALLY expect.

I had H&R sports w/ stock springs and wheels on my TLS and I loved it. Perfect amount of drop and the ride quality was still very good. Sorry I don't have any exact measurements of the drop. You can always go with the OE's, but they just don't drop the car enough IMO. I think you'll be quite happy with the items you've listed.

I have the H&R Sports and I'd say that they do drop the advertised 1.75" front and rear... and it is an even drop, the rear is not less then the front. I also needed a camber kit for the rear. Right now I'm running with stock rim size for the winter and you can still see the camber is off, so the 18" rims had nothing to do with it. Camber kit will be going on in the spring.
With that said I agree with yute. Drop is perfect and ride is still very good. With stock rims/tires you'll love the look.....

This is why I was trying to get someone with a body kit - no springs - do measurements from body kit to ground on each side of a front and rear wheel.
Nobody responded.
I believe it is more than what they advertise, but until I can get his info, I can't say for sure.

even though i have 2 15" subs and 2 amps in the trunk. removing them doesnt affect the rear ride height much. it goes up about 1/4" or so...

systek,
You were'nt actually driving around on that bald tire, were you? That thing looks like it died 5000 miles ago!
And just to clarify, will I need a camber kit if I drop my '99 TL with H&R Sport Springs? Most have said no before I think, but now I'm hearing otherwise.
Anyone else want to weigh in on this?
Thx

I know this post's a month old but did you get an alignment after installing your H&R Sport spring drop? Was it in spec and did your need to get a camber kit?

Mine was in spec. Even with a system in the trunk, they could align it without using a camber kit. Funny thing is, it was done at the Acura dealership and they never a word to me about the drop.

Alright I would like to see some pics of the H&R Sport Springs drop with stock wheels and a body kit. Also.. Im afraid that during the winter, my car is going to turn into a snow plow with the drop, since I have the body kit, you think it will be a problem?
