Buy Back TL-S...

Has anyone had Acura or the dealer buy back your vehicle or had to go to arbitration for getting you money back or another Acura?
I am currently going through Consumer Protection to 1. Get my money back or 2. Have my vehicle replaced. According to maryland I am eligible for some type of relief or action. 4 transmissions with only 60,000 on the odo is enough. Just want to know your procedure.

bring the car to another dealer for one last try....

go for the big 5!!!!

j/k...but if I were you, I would stick it out and get the tranny replaced again. These cars are great when they are working properly.

I've gone through that mess, it took 4 months and a lot of phone calls and paperwork.

There is a loopwhole which they will try to use against you (at least for MA lemon laws). In MA a consumer has to send a certified letter to the dealer and manufacturer as a last call letter basically stating that they have one last time to fix the car to your satisfaction. And only after they have received such letter and also failed a final attempt can you move forward with enacting the lemon law.

My best advice is to get legal counsel if you are really serious about pursuing it. Document every single time you were at the dealer and every single problem you have had with the car. Including time/date/people you spoke with, what they said, receipts, etc...

I am currently going through the procedures with the state Consumer Protection Agency. My car have been in the shop for 7 days now. I have typed my letter and will be sending a copy to Acura, the dealer and to CPA. I telephonically contacted Acura who totally blew me off. I talked to my lawyer and to CPA both gave me the several steps needed to press forward. Wish me luck, If this doesn't happen then I will just sale/trade in the car and chalk it up as a loss. To "ThatGirl" I will be using your comments to the CPA and News reports on the problem. You have a very interesting story and I have found others. Wish me luck guys. Oh. Yes about the mileage on my car. I drive 80-100 miles a day in commuting from Md, to Va. Plus drive to business meeting and training along the eastern seaboard. I love driving. Well If I don't have a reliable car I can't be a reliable employee. And the only reason I feel that there was so much time between my 3rd transmission and this failure is because in the last year I have been driving local and in the city for the last year. I am assuming.

Re: transmission ..dangerous

If you have an injury, you should sue them bigtime! A few of these and they will recall the tranny...

Yes I did it. It took alot of BS. Acura basically told me screw you and my dealer bought it back from me minus mileage. Acura ended up giving me accessories for free. My area rep was a jackass. It helped I was friends with the service manager also. I sent them the letters to try it one last time.
