bumper-2-bumper warranty
I bought a car last night 2002 TL-S. For $20.00 more a month they said I can get a bumper-2-bumper warranty, of course it excludes things like brakes, wear-n-tear, hoses and things like that. Sounds good to me knowing one trip to the shop can cost me over $200. What do you guys think? I have 49K on the car now and it will cover it until 100,000.

I would suggest reading the fine print and find out what exactly it doesnt cover. Alot of times its that hidden and small print that makes you wish you never bought it cause alot of them dont actually cover much

$20 X 12 = $240 yr
avg 20k miles driven a yr = 5 yrs to = 100k
5yrs X $240 = $1200 for the warranty.
Save yourself the cash, put $1200 and invest it and then if needed pull it out. always read that fine print, there is so many little snags that if you sneeze wrong when you tell them about the problem they can say its not under the warranty. and also, who is honoring this warranty? all honda/acura dealerships?

Did you by it at an Acura Dealership? Meaning CPO (Certified Pre Owned) if so, it should only be 12k/1 year, and an extended warranty normally covers the power train afterward for 7years/100k. And if you are worry about the tranny, it should be cover until 100k anyways if you get the warranty or not.

I read the fine print and its my friend that told me about so he wasnt trying to sell it to me but mention it to me incase i wanted to. I have to decide by tomorrow when I pick up the car. $20.00 a month for a year is $240 a year. If I have to go to the dealership once in that year it will have been worht the money.

YES, the powertrain is consider the engine and the tranny too. If it is a ACURA dealership extended warranty, hell yeah, its worth it. I got a rear main seal, and front engine mount all cover by the extended warranty. GL
