I know he spelled VTEC correctly. people just love to throw VTECH phones in whenever the word is used

well then...back to topic.

These "Vtec" controllers just seem like a waste of money. what are the benefits? Wouldn't Honda make their vtec engage at the precise moment for that specific motor?

yes, the vtec kicks in when it is supposed to.. no need to control it unless you dont want it to engage to save gas.. but if your doing 4k rpms your wasting gas anyway.. so i dont see the point

although sometimes i wish it kicked in later on my TL..

im so used to it hitting between 5 and 5.5k on my accord..

but then again rev. limit goes to 8 on that car

If it just controls the VTEC engagement point, then yes, it's a waste of money. But the Apexi VAFC also provides air and fuel management which in modified cars can provide a performance benefit. Our cars tend to run rich.
