Break related Servicing Questions

1. The "Break Lamp" light comes on now (everytime after I step on the break after car starts, and remains on). Most likely I need to change the bulbs. I tried to search and look for the DIY for changing the bulbs, but could not find anything (maybe it's just too easy?). Could someone point me to it? Also, where do you guys get the bulbs and for how much.

2. Break pads. I am running the Rotora slotted with the Satisfied Pro pads, and they have been squeaking a bit since I had them, this is quite annoying, but more importantly it becomes a bit harder to tell if it's the "warning squeak" when the Pads are running out. Whenever I take my car to the dealer they usually will tell me how much break pad is left, but I have decided that I can't fully trust them (since sometime they will say that 30% remaining but the next time I bring it in it will become 50% remaining...). What is the proper way to check how much break pad is left?

1. I am pretty sure the book that came with the car will tell you how to fix that.

2. As far as brake pads I would say next time your tires are off your car look for yourself.

Thank you. I found the instruction in the manual like you suggested.

As for the break pad check. Is there anyway to do it w/o removing the tires? I assume that there's got to be a way, right?

If you can see the metal 'squealer', check how much distance there is between that and the rotor surface.

Take your pads off or have them taken off and have the anti squeal applied to the back of the pads. There is no way to inspect the pads correctly with the tire on.

Also try Bedding them in to see if that makes it go away

Also its BRAKE. You arent Breaking any thing

did you grease the pad-caliper contact surfaces? that will make all the difference for the squeaking noises.
