Brake Pad Installation in DC/MD Area
So here's my deal, I have new EBC Greenstuff pads and now I'm looking for an installer. I had a guy who was a Acura tech but I can't get ahold of them. Anyone have any reccomendations? For refrenece, I've had quote ranging from
$420 to $100.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

do it yourself? The hardest part is jacking-up the car.

I would help you, but I only do my own brakes. Sorry, Legal issues. I will get you the number for a guy who is behind A-1 imports in Rockville, good guy and price is reasonable also. The shops name is Convenient Auto Repair. Will post it when I get home later tonight. I did not know that there were other modified TL in Montgomery Co. We should meet up sometime.

I changed my brake pads the other day. VERY VERY SIMPLE. Trust me, I have no mechanical skills and I was able to changed them in less than an hour. Like stated above, the hardest part is jacking up the car since I have a kit and am lowered.

I am a moran...
Ok, so I want to give it a try myself. How does one lift the car? I have a pnuomatic (sp?) jack and one at a time is so problem. It that just the way it's done or is there an alternative I don't know about?
Thanks,
Joe

Just did my rotors this weekend with the help of a friend & his 3 1/2 ton floor jack - cost = 1 case of Lite longnecks. Took about 1.5 hours, including test drives after doing the front first and then the back. Wish I would have had Green Stuff pads around, because it would have been so easy. I estimate that with a similar jack (suspension points, not tire change points) and a decent 2 car garage, the pads alone should only take about an hour. Have a metric set of wrenches, and we used a piece of 4x4 lumber, about 16" worth, to place the front pistons on while working. I would offer to help you, but don't think you want to drive to lovely and fragrant Cincinnati. . . :-)

Thanks!
I just wanted to thank everyone for all they're help. I don't really feel comfortable playing around with brakes. I ended up finding an Acura tech who does work on the side for cheap. $70 for all 4 and it only took him about 40 minutes.
