Brake help!
Brake help!
I have a 2002 TL, and I'm changing out the rear pads. Got everything apart easy enough and got the new pads back in, but I can't quite get the caliper to compress far enough. I mean I got the piston back in, but it seems like the outside part of the caliper needs to be pushed in too. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Yeah go to your auto parts store and get...
Go get a brake caliper spreader... $15
If not use a "C" clap and a piece of wood to press the piston back in.
Don't step on the brake or the piston will come out further.
Don't hit it with anything... I did that and ended up phluckin up my brakes

Cool thanks....I got it back together. I was being stupid, the whole outside moves, didn't notice it cause the spring clip holding the pads in I think. Now if I could just have gotten the #%#@ rotor off. Those screws are a b!tch. Didn't want to strip them...I tried WD40 and pounding the life out of them, but no go.
