Question Brake dust

Can you guys give me any ideas as to how often I need to clean/wipe off brake dust. And how exactly I go about that. Thanks a bunch.

I would do it when it gets dirty and, after some serious thought, I have decided that i would wash the wheels to remove the dust. If I may be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to ask. Good evening.

I am washing mine quite often now without using wheel wash cleaners. I have the optional factory multi spoke chrome wheels for the 99-01 TL. I coated them with Zaino polish at the end of last month just before my trip to NJ. for the PARK AVE ACURA MEET. I wash my car about once or twice a week & my wheels still look good. As always the front wheels will get very dirty on a FWD car. I clean mine with an old wah mitt that I use only on the wheels.

a bit more info

Hey guys, thanks for the initial bit of info, but I have a bit more specific questions: Do you just hose down the wheels? Do you wipe down on the inside of the wheels? Most importantly, is there anything I SHOULD NOT DO? Let me know of anything that might seriously f*** up my brakes/wheels. Thanks guys again.

What not to do....

Don't wash them as soon as you pull into your driveway or whereever due or your rotors will get warped let it cool. (you probably know that but one time I forgot and sprayed some water on the wheel and saw the steam and then stopped).

I wash 'em once a week, I don't wash the inside, maybe if I am going to a meet I'll wash the inside or when I'll have Lowenharts BR5s, I'll wash the inside

I just use soap and water on my wheels, the same stuff I use on my paint. If you clean them regularly, it shouldn't be too hard to get off. I would stay away from spray on wheel cleaners, the best way is also the hard way, do it by hand with a bucket of soapy water and a rag or wash mit.

I wash the insides of my tires whenever I rotate them. If you rotate your own tires, this is a very convenient time to do it.

Boy, that sure must be time consuming....BTW, no one ever sees the inside of your tires so why wash them?

35%. But beware, our windows are tinted already, so do not overdo it. You can have your tint checked in Bel Air or Glen Burnie MVA around Baltimore.
