I was wondering if anyone on this forum has a bra on their tl. My front bumper is being abused by people who doesn't know how to park in NYC. If you do have one can you put a picture. I'm thinking of getting one.

dont have a pic with it on but the oem bra is a nice one. fits very well, doesnt flap

 

i put the clear bra on my TL-S when done right u cant even tell its on the car, only my hood has a few creases b/c the instructions says spray alcohol and water on the bra when applying it but theres not enough give so it was hard to work with. i will be using a soap and water solution for the rest of the application

imo, I'd rather repaint my bumper/hood 50 times than put a bra on any car.

 

live where you need to spend 2 hours on the front bumper alone while washing it to get the Bugs off, or where when they Salt teh roads its like driving on a gravel road and you would reconsider having one

Yea, i have problems with the stupid bugs. I'm thinking about getting the clear bra. Where did you get your clear bra at and how much was it? Can they put it on even though I have a lip kit?

 

i got mine from here http://www.autocarparts.com/, not sure about the lip kit. i have (since teh bra was torn by a bike pedal) been using diesel fuel to clean the bugs off (learned from a tech at MercedesBenz)

 

Go here to find an authorized 3M installer for your part of the country. I went ahead and looked for one in the Chicago area and came up with this one: Auto Tinting and Rock Guard. Check them out or go back to the locator and find another one. I believe there were 18 matches for IL. And your question about the front lip, yes they usually have a precut kit for the stock unit as well as the lip kit.

 

www.rockblocker.com has the TL kit with and without the OEM lip kit , if you are patient you can attempt the install on your own or with a buddy for the big pieces

 

koo.. thanks for all the tips. One question though.. a buddy of mine recently got some sort of clear bra on his g35c. On his car, I can clearly see where the clear bra ends when i'm about a foot or two away from his car, and he installed in professionally. Does the clear bras that you guys are recommending have that issue to?

The photo below is Xpditor's TL ..... Is that the line you're referring to, the bottom part of the photo? From certain angles and distances, the edge of the PPF is not noticeable. If you look at the right side of the hood in the photo, you can't see it. As you get closer (1-2 ft.), it will be visible and more so if you're looking from the rear to the front. In all honesty, I really don't pay too much attention to it. Folks don't even know it's there until I tell them about it.

yes u will see that line with the clear bra because dust and dirt will collect on the line and make it visible just slightly , standing a few feet away you wont even notice it , imho its still a nicer look than having a black bra on a car of a different color , plus the paint will fade unevenly where a leather bra is since no sunlight is hitting that part of the car. Either way if you drive the car a lot you need something to prtect your paint
