Bought it, but afraid to put it on now.

I just got my AEM CAI today from UPS. I went online to look find out how to install the thing, and i read all these posts about the dangers of CAI's. Namely water damage. I ordered the by pass valve, but my fears have still not been set to rest. Has anyone, after installing a CAI with a by pass valve, mess up their engine from water damage. If i sound paranoid its because i just bought a 35k+ car and i only have 4000 miles on it. i dont want to blow my engine.

Just remeber you have to do alot of cutting I made the mistake of putting the bypass valve between the motor and the intake so now I don't even have a bypass no more

Bro I had a AEM CAI for my Integra GS-R for about 1year and a half and my car was lowered about an inch and a half. I had no problems in the rainy season here in socal (Feb- Apr.) as long as you don't go driving through the really deep puddles you'll be alright. I didn't have the bypass valve on as it wasn't available until recently.

I have the AEM CAI w/bypass valve on my TL since the end of March 2001. I have driven through a few downpours and everything was fine. Just don't go driving through a puddle. Not even if it looks shallow because it is very deceiving. The pros of owning an AEM CAI far outweighs the cons of it. I say you get it installed asap.

BTW, the bypass valve does its job really well. Read the following article on it: http://www.aempower.com/magart.htm
