Dude, did you not read the fact that I knew I overpaid? I didn't care for 1. because it's a low mileage museum piece solid car. 2. If I didn't buy this I would have bought a $20-25k 04 RL or Lexus ES. Either way this car wound up cheaper for me than having a $400+ car payment. I put a ton of cash down on it and it'll be paid off early.

I would have rather overpaid 3-4k for this car than upgraded and bought a lot more expensive car. Plus, insurance gave me freakin NADA retail plus taxes for my 00, so I got "overpaid" for the 00, so it really doesn't matter to me.

I've worked in the car business, have an uncle with 35 yrs in the business as sales, sales mgr, F&I, GM, etc. and a cousin in F&I. Someone was physically trying to buy that car when I walked up and someone actually showed up to buy it if I didn't want it. I worked there. I told them they were ripping me off but it was still cheaper for me in the longrun.

Oh yeah, I forgot, KBB Private Party value for that car with that mileage is $11,205, and excellent (which this car fits the criteria) is $11,950. The actual price of my car was $12,034.00 before taxes. Either way, I paid what the car was worth, not "thousands over" as some may think. Dealer retail is $14,505---nobody pays that, so I paid under that.

Here are the criteria which identify a vehicle in excellent condition. My car has all of these except the service records in the car; however, it was serviced at the Acura dealer where I bought my 00 in FL, so I could get a service history report if needed.

* Looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning.
* Never had any paint or body work and is free of rust.
* Clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection.
* Engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects.
* Complete and verifiable service records.
