Body Kit Colour on NBP... not what you're thinkin..

Hey there everybody.. As many of you may know I was once the proud owner or a Heather Mist Metallic 99TL (with kit), I sold it to upgrade to a 2002 NBP TL-S, however have yet to put on the kit because the front piecs from the 99 kit will not work with the 02 front end..

I am about to order the front lip for the 02 kit to complete the kit and finally get it back on the car.. Just last weekend I was waxingthe car and cleaning the garage and I noticed how good the Heather mist metallic kit looks on the Black TL.. ala Lexus paint scheme..

Now I'm not sure if I should order the lip black and paint the rest of the kit black...

Or..

Order the front lip painted Heather mist metallic and install the silver kit on the black car..

I quickly photoshopped the pic here.. The kit actually looks much much better in person.. (when I held it up to the car)If I can find time this week I might be able to throw the three pieces on the car just to see how she looks...

When I first saw it, it looked like a Chevy Monte Carlo, with the black and silver paint. I think it would look much better ALL silver

I think it would only look good if you complete the 2 tone scheme by paint the lower part of the car.

Agreed, It will look good if its two tone color. Black on top leading into silver will look good!

Damn man, why you got rid of the heathermist?!, My TL is heathermist, wouldve been cool if others had it.. Good luck

I've seen a few Infiniti I35s that were painted similarly...they were black with gold side skirts...not my style but didn't look terrible at all.

I think this guy is illiterate and only likes looking at pictures...

Thanks for the insight...

I thought it would look gay if I put the heather mist kit on the TL, honestly it looks really good on the car in person, but in the picture it doesn't look good I have to admit.. The colours don't work together, it looks like the kit is off a SSM TL instead of a HMM (Heather Mist Metallic), and my photoshooing skillz could use a little more sharpening..

And now, in retrospect, I see the monte carlo reference.. I didn't until you guys mentioned it though.

Ok.. so here's the plan...tell me what ya think.

-Put on the three pieces of the Heather Mist Metallic Kit this week and take some pictures...

-Post the pics here for more insight and opinions..

- Make a final decision on which colour to order the front lip in.

Basically , I going to order the 02 front lip, I was planning on ordering it and getting it painted NBP prior to shipping , THEN I would have to repaint the current HeatherMist Kit NBP.... and Volia.. NBP kit on NBP TL-S..

- However if I decide to go with the Heather mist Metallic kit on the NBP car, all I have to do is get the 02 front lip painted HeatherMist INSTEAD of NBP before it is shipped.. HMM kit on a NBK car... interesting..
Agreed, It will look good if its two tone color. Black on top leading into silver will look good!

Damn man, why you got rid of the heathermist?!, My TL is heathermist, wouldve been cool if others had it.. Good luck

OK so I installed the Kit... jut to see what it would look like.

Alright guys I did it today... I installed the Heather Mist Metallic kit (the three pieces that would fit from my 99tl) onto my NBP TL-S..

I did this today so I could see if i should order the front lip black and paint the rest of the kit to match, or do I order the 02 front lip painted Heather Mist Metallic ?

I think these pics looked photoshopped with the flash on, hell they even look photoshopped with the flash off. You'll have to trust me they are real

AND..... I got a brand new set of rubbers today aswell!! Yokohama AVID V4S 215 50 r17.. Only put 30km (20 miles) on them so far.... but so far so great.. thanks for the advice on the rubbers Derrik

Go two-tone all the way. It is really eye-catching and unique. There are plenty of all-black cars.

if it was ssm/heathermist w/ black kit i think it would be 3x better- but since uve chose to go this route i think u shuld def get the heathermist front lip...(i don't think its available for 02-03 cuz they discontinued Heathermist??) but yeh- u might as well finish it- what bout a heathermist spoiler lol?

Go for it. I think it looks sharp.

Plus think about it this way: You can paint the front lip in HMM for pretty cheap and repainting it all later wouldn't be that much more than repainting it all now.

Not really feeling it bro, it looks too much like a Chevy Monte Carlo. Not very befitting of a entry level luxury car IMO.
