Blue TLS with Body Kits are so nice!

I see them more frequent now, but I appreciate that color more and more. Saw one today and was admiring how well the entire car looked so proportional with the 17's and body kit and spoiler. Beyond that, I don't believe the car should be modded for aesthetics, but that's just my opinion as the car looks great as is.

Don't you think that all TL's look good with body kits?

Those body kits are very nice. Not overly done. Maybe Santa will give me one for Christmas

Well I had a TL with a body kit and stock wheels and suspension and thought it wasn't proportionally all there vs. the TLS with kit. After lowering it, it was better but the 18's def. made the difference.

Just one more cosmetic touch

AC,
I totally agree, a beautiful car! However, I must say that the 3A racing tips (if an aftermarket exhaust is not in the picture) are an amazing addition for around $50. They are perfect with the kit and give it a oh-so-nice finishing touch from both the rear and profile views. The kicker was when I had a woman say to me that she liked her '01 TL with a body kit and spoiler, but my TL-S had "much sportier exhaust"

I agree that all TLs look great with a bodykit, especially the TL-S. But with the 99-01, you really need bigger rims to make it look proportional.

Nothing like a shiny black TL with some chromies and bodykit:

That is an awesome picture, Binh. Your car looks great. I especially like how the sunlight hits the car from the back corner and makes the gold trim really come out. The view of the back of the car from that slight angle also makes the chromies look good, more so than a regular profile shot.

I agree that the TL already looks good

But the body kit is defintely an improvement and is a perfect fit for the car. I do think the car looks better with the spoiler.

I also like the color blue on the TL, GS4 and especially on the M5! I saw a brand new M5 parked at one of the buildings where I work and the blue was a perfect color for it! Come to think of it, these cars look good in all colors that are available for them! Shoot, I'd take a pink M5 with a smile on my face!

In my opinion the Blue TL with the Kit, rims and drop looks so crazy.

That looks really good, but for some reason it doesn't look like the car is dropped. I know your sig says comptech springs, but it doesn't look dropped.

IMO, it would look really awesome with a kit.

Comptech springs only dropped it 1.25" Front and .75" Rear, very minimal, but you should have seen it before, can you say "4x4"?

Yeah, his numbers seem low. Maybe the springs need to settle more. That is a lot of settling though.

I measured it a week after install, hasn't appeared to settle since, but I'll check tomorrow.

JBrown, always wanted to say how sweet your ride is Love the no kit and Se7en rims, it's gives it that "Athletic" look to your ride.

If my memory serves me correct, weren't you the one that unfortunately had to get the rear end repaired? Well I hope they fixed your baby back to A1 condition. That body shop looked pretty reputable.

Thanks a lot for the compliment, and the body shop is amazing, I found a few small imperfections after they were done, they had me bring it in, dropped what they were doing and fixed it while I waited! Fantastic Finishes Kicks @ss!

rominl
Wheels were first by two weeks, thank god, since they rubbed in back a little before I trimmed the fenders, now all is okay.

oh i heard that in reality the oe drops a bit more than what they advertised (more like 1.5), so i bet the comptech will give you some more drops but not overdone. imho, i have seen most dops myself, and i think comptech and the h&r sports are the best drops for our cars

nop, never. there are still around 7 inches of clearance on my car and i have been able to go through a lot of conditions without any scrapping. i have entered a lot of driveways too and so far it's been ok. i went to sf couple days ago and it was still ok (though i have to admit i didn't go to some of the steepest places). i don't even have to go over speed bumps at an angle.

basically i guess the most dangerous thing is the driveways, coz' our cars extend pretty long in front of the front wheels.

I checked my springs again, they have settled about 1/2" front and rear since the picture above was taken, which was on the day of install, for a grand total now of about 1.75" front and 1.25" rear AFTER settling.

P.S. Pinstripes suck!

I LOVE the raked look, I hate FWD cars that are always just a little higher in front than in back.
The lowered front helps minimize understeer, too :p
