Blacking out the chrome, how to remove the grille?
Have problems with this, so far i have the handles black, but i still need the trimming and grille. How would i go about removing it? I removed the 4 things at the top, but it seems like it is connected to the bumper. ugh
It is connected to the bumper with 3 push plastic screws (forgot exactly what it is called), 2 at the ends and 1 in the middle; you can remove those plasticky screws without removing the bumper but it is tricky and requires creativity. Just like other push plasticky screw, pry up middle part and pull it out.
much easier to do it with the bumper off
but my bumper was only held on by the 2 push clips on top grill since grill is still attached to bumper and the 2 corner screws on the fender.... so that made things a lot quicker and easier for me..

Whatever steps you decide to take in removing the said pieces, one thing above all: sand all chrome off! You will utterly waste any time and effort you invest unless you do this. Also, make sure the sanded pieces are cleaned with anything that rids and doesn't leave any residue behind. It must be clean before painting. Sand and clean...keep it simple.
On a side note, I recently seen a very "stock" looking TL-S on the road and noticed he had blacked out the grille but also painted the Acura "A" symbol red and that made for a beautiful contrast against the black grille. IMO, nothing looks better on these cars than a black paint job and red contrast/accent. Aggressive...

Just did the same to my grill the other day I found it very easy to remove without removing the bumper biggest thing to remember is there is a small groove on the very front of the bumper that you must slide the grill back into or else it will not lie flat I did not sand my chrome completely off I did use a scuffing block. the scuffing block made to paint stick very well and I used Rustoleum gloss black
