I saw a jetta with black tail lights on the freeway the other day - are there any companies that make black tail lights for some cars (doubting TL, maybe civic?), or was it most likely some of that stuff you spray on plastic to make it black?
are black lights even legal? I noticed you could still see the lights through the black ok, but it doesn't seem to be very common.

 

If your still wondering after 3 years, you most likely witnessed a jetta with the tailights tinted. Otherwise i think this is called for -->...

And just in case our friend from 2003 is reading, so a search for it and you will find a couple of resources. Yes they make tint for all cars, and it is easily applied to our cars.
