A while back I saw a badge set that was "Black Chrome." It was Acura OEM, but I don't guess they ever sold well... I thought the black chrome would look good on WDP. You can buy the black chrome paint can't you? I was thinking about painting these things...

It would be a WDP TL-S except everything that is bright chrome would be the black chrome. Do you guys think it would look good or no? Haven't bought anything yet, so I just need to know what you guys think...

 

with matching rims and a dark tint, that MIGHT look good, hard to picture it in my head

I really want to see how it looks...several friends of mine keep telling me to do it..but I can't picture it ....

 

Go for it! I am thinking about going black, gunmetal, or body color on my SSM. Ask around and see if someone who has de-badged has their old badges. Take them and paint those, that way you have extras if you don't like the look.

 

i was thinking the same thing, for the front grill. glossy black but leave the emblem chrome. someone please do a photoshop its so hard to picture it in ur mind.

I'm getting my windows tinted Tuesday. Limo all around...

But, its OEM TL-S rims for me... So, if I'm going to do Black Chrome, its all or nothing. It won't look right with BC badges and not the whole grille. Or BC window trim without BC doorhandles. Will the BC trim look good with the alloy wheels? I'm also getting some 3A tips, paint them also?

I think I will attempt it. Anyone have any badges they want to donate?

Have teh grill and handles black chromed. OR you can do a search, I believe its the 3rd gen side that they have used a certain paint that looks like black chrome and has turned out good looking.

 

i think it would look better without having the emblem and top piece painted i wana redo this one. repost in a little bit.

^^^ Doesn't look like Black Chrome, IMO. Just looks like a grille that has been painted black. I want to leave my grille the way it is, but all the chrome pieces, painted Black Chrome. They will still be chrome, just a little darker.

+1 for effort though. Try the Black Chrome on a WDP?

personally i wouldn't like the emblems painted black. but i would like the fogs black and door handles for sure. the grill is a little different and hard to photoshop - very hard, haha. but it was worth the try.

what other color could i paint my chrome that would look ok? the grill part i photo shopped has now become a little scraped up since i painted the black part of my grill glossy black. the plastic part looks great its just my chrome could be in better shape. or should i just get like chrome spray paint?

You do realize that Black Chrome is chrome right? I am not painting my chrome pieces black. I am painting them Black Chrome. It is still chrome, but it is a smokey color that is shiney like chrome.

well say i just painted the chrome pieces i have with chrome spray paint - is that going to turn out looking weird?

i found a pic of black chrome and it looks hot. i think it would look great. but it all depends on the color of the car i guess.

Black chrome door handles sounds different...

I was going to cover them in vinyl but this sounds better.

I just vinyled the window trim the last two days...

I'm over chrome!

But there are too many curves in the grille...maybe black chrome paint is my solution.

the tl with the wing west rear lip if you look closely at the trunk has the black chrome emblem on it. i believe that is what he is trying to show you.

Black chrome is light then I thought.

That would compliment my SSM paint even better...cool.

i did my own black chrome on my cl using spray window tint over the chrome badge plus its totally reversable.. looked pretty dope. you can also get model window tint for model cars.. dont remember the part number but its pretty available. ill see if i can get some pics.





thats all i can find... sold her about 4 years ago.. also if you do this use non yellowing clear laquer over the tint after it dries.. will keep it from cracking off.

Where did you get your spray window tint from? You just clean them really good and spray over? No need to take old chrome off?
