Bitium and TLers, High 13s with RES??

Like I said before, my best time was 14.2 with Comptech Headers, Greddy Evo Exhaust, and Injen intake. No spare. Stock tires. No matter how hard I try I cant break into 13.9 I think if I slapped on the Unorthodox Racing pulleys, Nitto 555's and the RES, do you think High 13's is possible??

P.S. My friends brother with the Integra GSR with 75 shot lost to me by a mile. I got a little shooked over nothing.:p

What was your trap speed like when you did 14.2?

Go for it with no gas in the tank, a cool fall day, ice the intake, no headwinds, fold the mirrors in, frt tire pressure 31, rr 38, make sure what little gas you have is 93 or 94 octane, back seat out, no spare or trunk mat, no floor matts. Hold each gear as long as you can, go thru the lights in 3rd. DO NOT bump off the rev limiter. To really go nuts take the pass. seat out - weighs about 60 lbs. I know this because I took mine out to fix the heated seat thing. Vsa off, AC system off and radio off. Come out of the hole spinning just alittle. Good luck. Remember, every 10 degrees cooler equals 1% more horsepower (or 1% times 260 = 2.6 HP). Thats all I can think of, good luck. My favorite racing temp: around 50 degrees.

Wow. That's a nice level of detail to get into the 13's. Quite extreme, but it makes sense. My only question: what's the point of getting that 13.9x with all of that effort of prepping for racing? I would think a more practical race would be more rewarding. By practical I mean not going through all of this preparation. i.e. at a street light.

I'm very new to all of this, and am just trying to gain some insight.

I'm pretty sure the RES will put you on the 13's. Get better softer tires. lighter wheels and make sure your tank is about 1/4 full.

I'm trying to get the RES installed on a type S with headers/intake (ron's car) this friday and go to the track. If everything works out well, I'll have video of before and after.

The track would tell the truth....hehehe

BTW what was your reaction time?

If you wanted to fly, why did you buy a TL. Try a stick coup for next time.

Its not about flying, its about going fast in a 4dr car. m5, e55, are 4dr cars and have very good performance, even better than coupes. I just want to do the same in a Honda. Some people have different opinions you know. Some like coupe racing, and I myself like big body racing (Maxima, 5 series, E Series, GS series) etc...Going fast in a coupe is typical everyday thing, but going fast in a family car gives me a rush. You guys make a big deal about a 13s second sedan, its not like I am trying to go to the moon. When the Comptech Supercharger comes out, I wont even be aiming for 13s, I will aiming for 12.8. Enough to hang (not beat) with m5 and e55.

P.S. "Just because you have a family car doesn't mean you have to drive it like one" -- Acura DN-X--.

No just 3rd party testing and trying to see how it performs on the track, we already know is great on the dyno.

Badazz - He asked how to get into the 13's and I gave him the best answer I could. It is a goal, nothing more or less. And yes I've been there, beating the car to death only to lose by .004 sec. The other guy got the win, the money and the trophy. You go home thinking "I should of...." You get the story. This was in my old race car, not a TL.
