The big six-O

Going in for my 60K mile service soon. This is the big one where they change out the timing belt ad everything. I understand this will set me back a few hundred bucks and a couple of days. Anything I should know before calling up dealers for price quotes?

Timing Belt and Water Pump shouldn't have to be changed out till at LEAST 90,000mi.

I'm at 94,5xx and haven't even thought about it... I'm going to wait ill 105,xxx then do it all!

ya see if they'll put a long life belt in for you so your not shelling out 700 bux every 60k miles, more like 105k like the newer tls

screw the "recommended maintence" 95% of the time its just a ploy to get you into the dealer and rape your wallet!!!!

Find a mechanic that works on Acura and or Hondas and he will treat you right...most of the time

I found a local mechanic that is certified and everything, my maintence light was on for the 60000 and the dealer wanted something close to a grand!!!!!!! I was like hell no you idiots!!!....sorry for the language. anyway I found this guy and he laughed at what they said, he checked eveything out...the verdict, concentrated fuel cleaner, a new wiper = 30 bucks. our cars really hardely need maintence if you take care of it, and keep the fluids fresh.

ask fsttyms1 about maintence

yup! the only thing thats gone into my car is gas, oil and at 134k plugs. runs as good as the day i got her! most of the stuff is to get you in to spend money. i will/am going to replace the belts this spring (waterpump at the same time)

every honda i have ever owned has been through the same, including one that had over 240k on it and never had a thing replaced other than oil. its still running perfect. the engine is something that honda cant be beat at!

ya I think 130000 + is a pretty good time for that kind of work!!!! but that should prove to everyone out there who thinks they have to run to the dealer when the maintence light comes on or they hear a noise....DONT!!!!
