ok dude relax it's ok. Is it the front or rear?
Either way you need to pull it out. If it's not that tight see if you can grab it with visegrips and twist it out. If that doesn't work. You need to use a stud remover, or if you drill a hole in it, you can use, I forget what it's called looks like a cone drill bit. When drilling though, you need to use left handed drill bits. A down side for this app. it will prob require a right angle drill. Good luck.

i agree. you will have to remove the header on that side then remove teh remaining stud with a pliers or visegrips. then reinstall every thing and get a new bolt

oh, okay...sounds a lot simpler...i thought i had to get the remainder plasma cutted out and weld back on a new one

Its the front header so that makes the job a lot easier and if anything i'll just remove the radiators/fans to make space for the drill bit if the pliers or vicegrip don't work

I'll have to wait till my corolla is done so i can do this because i dont have 4-5hours to do this job...not to mention i need my friend's because of a slight fitment issue.

the dealer will find the stud...lets hope they're cheap!
THANKS YOU TWO!!!

yup do what they said, and MOST importantly, get a torque wrench for the removal, and reinstall. The Header studs are alot softer than most people think.

no need for a torque wrench now since i now know how hard i can go...i'd rather spend those $20 in something more usefull...like a 12pak while i do the work with my friends

Thanks

i'll post some pics of the work so i can show off my manly bugg ruggedness!!

yup. header bolts (and head bolts, atleas be inspected) should be replaced after removal. due to heat and stress on them they stretch and are more prone to breakage
