Thumbs down A Big NO-NO..I know I know

I am almost 300miles over my oil change. I know, I'm gonna get flamed for being such a moron but things are just too hectic around holiday seasons. I just took it for a spin today since it was nice here (32º) and it felt kinda sluggish..and my dealer said they can't do anything until Mon. But I do have to go in to work tomorrow? Any suggestions? Should I not drive my car anymore? Remember, it only has 5,800 (oil change was due at 5,500)

Yeah...no big deal...

Take if from Chuckstl...He's probably gone through 20?...30?...40? oil changes on his ride. With that many miles (170,000) and no problems, I try to follow all of his advice.

First Oil Change

Bring your own oil. First two (or three) are free.

I did with my first one (Mobil 1 5W-30). You won't regret it.

I have an 02 TLS and change my oil with 5w20. I change it every 3k miles. The manual says for extreme conditions change every 3700 miles. I live in NY, and the roads are extreme. Whatever. Anyway, the place that changes my oil puts in Exxon 5w20. I read the back of the container and it said it meets the exact specifications of the Honda motor oil 5w20. Is there a difference really? I think Honda just wants you to buy their oil. Also, what it mobil 1 have over other oils?
Thanks.

I once let my '93 Accord go 14k between changes. It had about 30K on it then and I was was really worried since I tend to run my cars into the grave. It's got over 210K now. Doesn't burn a drop of oil between oil changes (every 4k) and still gets 32mpg hwy.

I sure wouldn't worry about missing by a few HUNDRED miles.

PS - It's for sale. PM for pictures and price.
