Best wiper blades?

I live here in Oregon and we see rain about 75% out of a year (well.. maybe not this year!). My question to you guys is: what would be the best wiper blades do you ever use? I bought Bosch Edge Excel before and didn't have a good experience with it. All comments are welcome!

PIAA has introduced a line of super silicon wiper blades. They come in either carbon fiber finish or black. supposedly the wiper action leaves a silicon coat which makes the water bead up and water repellant.

i'm thinking about trying them in sunny california just because anytime i use the wipers with the washer fluid everything smears heinously.

i have to find out about an application for our car (length) and if i do get them i'll let you know how they are.

besides i love carbon fiber

How about buy a set of decent blade(e.g. Borsch), and a bottle of X-Rain...

I'm not far from you, Rujee, up in Vancouver, WA. At first, my blades skipped and sucked like everyone else on here complained about. I have put a few coats of Rain-X on her, though, and I don't need to use my wipers much at all. Once i hit 35mph or so, the water just beads up and off the windshield. The other day I did need to use them, though, and they didn't skip at all. I used them all day (remember Friday?), and no problems. Later that night I drove around without the wipers on because the Rain-X was still working. The stuff really works. I haven't tried that new one-minute Castrol stuff, yet. Anyway, this is a little off your subject. I was looking to buy new blades, too, but I'm not sure if I need to, now.

The best I've ever used are Silblades... Silicone like the piaa ones that jimster mentioned.

I love them, they do leave a silicone coat on the windshiels like rainx.

Ther are about $13 a piece and worth every penny,

http://www.sspinc.com/wipers.cfm

They last pretty much forever, I had a set on my truck for three years and not a streak, and thats through rain and snow.

Get original factory OEM blades & have your front windshield treated with Aquapel Glass treatment. This treatment unlike
Rain-X will last over a year. It is made by PPG Industries that supply Auto & Truck Glass. The treatment should cost $14 -$20 & will help any blades.

Rain-X works pretty good, but before I put any on for the winter (it gets so hot here that what I put on in the spring has surely BURNED off) I'm gonna see how you guys like those Sillblades.

The Bosch blades kick @ss, I've had them on every car so far, and in Florida it rains almost every day in the summer time. Only $7-9 each and they last about 6 months in the wicked FL sun, probably more if you aren't as anal as I am about wiper blades.

Just a note about Rain-X. Maybe I'm the only one to have this happen...but it's happened on 4 cars to date...

When you put Rain-X on the car...it's great...and it works wonders...but over time you have to apply it more and more often, and if you don't the water will have a smearing effect 100x worse than before you put the Rain-X on...we're talking AWFUL you-can't-see-at-all smearing, and the worst part...the water seems to stick to the windshield even at high speeds. I talked to Rain-X about this...and they said "yeah it's an irreversible process...just reapply our product". What a way to market it eh? Like marketing crack cocaine...take it once, and you have to keep doing it forever. I heard that the new spray stuff they're coming out with that you don't even have to wipe off is a lot less evil over time...you guys experienced this?

I have Bosch excel or whatever they call them and they've lasted close to 9 months already ... these are NOT refills .. these are the $12 ones that come w/ the metal holder thingy.. the whole assembly you know. I remember reading something on consumer reports saying that the refills from the same manufacturer are often worse than the whole assembly they sell and I can back it up. I had refills from bosch before and they only lasted about 2 - 3 months.

Windex seems to take Rain-X right off (with a few coats).

I may try Zaino, but with my Silblades, I apply rain-x once or twice and almost never again. The water doesn't fly off the windshield as fast, but it does fly off. It takes a few months of rain for the silblades to coat the windshield, it certainly isn't instant, but you will notict it one day and be like "wow" it really works.

yes I did have the same sad experience and because of that I stopped using the Rain-X. You love it the first day and hate it a week later.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do... I went through 3 sets of wipers, and still they chatter like a Fvck... I put rain x, didn't help..I put 303 wiper treatment, it helped the first time I put it on, then two more times after it didn't help.... I hate this!

Same thing used to happen to my Accord every now and then. Happened once on my TL-S so far. What I do is when I get chatter, I completely clean the windshield using dishwashing liquid and a green scotch brite pad. Hose it off, dry and reapply Rain-X.

The way I apply RainX is by cleaning and drying the windshield, I then put on the RainX and then instead of buffing it off, I just hose off the windshield again. It takes the excess right off with absolutely ZERO buffing, huffing or puffing. Plus I think it leaves more product on the windshield and leaves ZERO streaking.

rain x

I actually use the rain x brand of windshield washer fluid.

It cost 3 dollars a bottle CND.....so i always seem to have a good coat of rain x on.

it works great.

These Rain-X or other windshield treatment products, do they leave a film that's hard to see at night?

I used something similar a while back and the film just lights up under street lights and I can't see a thing. And it's annoying.
