I want to do a poll on what everyone has as far as tint jobs on their cars. I have a silver tlp without tint and I want to change things around but some of the tint jobs out there look horrible. If you have pics that would be great too.

 

i have a silver TL... im looking on suggestions for tints too... i had in mind to do mirror tints- not too dark though and not too light either... but i want mirror but not the lexus RX mirror becuz thats green... and i dont want the blue (which is what ive seen)... i want to get like a silver mirror to match the car.... but i have yet to find a place that does "silver mirror tints"

 

Llumar TItanium tints. They have a silvery metallic shine to them that looks sweet on silver cars. And I'd be weary of that mirrored stuff, as I believe its illegal in quite a few states.

if u guys go with black tint...make sure its no more than 20%...you'll regret it

 

oh...1 more thing...make sure whoever does the job goes all the way to the end of the window!

 

i got 35% silhouette on my SSM. it has metallic in it. i love it

 

get at least 20%, 35% looks like nothing is there.

 

if you want to travel to Queens, there is a tint shop near SHea Stadium called Stadium Auto Glass 718-898-8884. they have titanium tint, 20%, that matches silver cars perfectly. i've gotten my car dont there before.

 

 

I've tinted my car 3 times in one year.....i could NEVER decide on a good tint....without getting into details, i finally decided on 15% all around.....looks VERY even and darkness is PERFECT.

it all depends on ur state to. NJ sucks i got 35% n at night it looks kinda dark since i got black interior. havent been pulled ova yet for dat $45 ticket. lol 20% with tan interior looks liek 35% with black interior.

in response to your Q that you asked via my PM (your PM inbox is full), the titanium tint that the shop offers does not look greenish at all...some cars (not sure if the 2nd gen TL too) have a factory greenish tint on the window already so if you get a mirror tint, the tint is obviously going to have a slight greenish hue to it since its reflecting the greenish tint.

22% front, 13% back

this picture doesn't really show how it is in real life but it's the only one i have that is shot for the tints.
honestly speaking, if i were to tint my windows over again, i would go for 35% front and 22% back instead. there are times at night when i need to roll down the windows to see the surroundings (for parking and waving at people and such).

I shall take a shot in the daytime tomorrow and repost.

 

i like the more even all-around look...same percentage for all the windows. looks cleaner, but thats just me
