Best Setting for TLwith V-AFC????
I heard changing the factory specs on VTEC only worsens your 1/4 mile times, but one member had great success with enrichening the A/F mixture at WOT (wide open throttle) for really improved times. His stock TL-S did a 14.2 with only a V-AFC.
it would be tuned differently for pretty much every car. it is also dependant upon mods. best thing to do is just bite the bullet and fork over the dough to get it dyno tuned. w/ mine i had the vtec's set at 3500 and 3800 and had it leaned out ~-3 to -5 low then -2 once vtec was hit.

I gave my settings to Don'sTL...keep in mind that my VAFC was tuned along with I/H/E and i do recall my VTEC engagement getting dropped down to like 4600 or 4700. Your stock VTEC will engage at 5300. One other note, my fuel consumption went to sh!t after the VAFC BTW.
thanks for your guys, well Rzua5 are you the one put the brade grill on? sure we can come out to set it up together. Anyway I forget mine guys, but I will check it tomorrow and post it, cos mine engine now is so good, I never feel that before.

i dont think thats correct...i think stock VTEC engagement is either 4400 or 4800 RPM's. this is from acura's web site:
Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC™) helps the TL achieve its remarkable combination of strong low-to mid-speed torque, high-rpm horsepower and excellent fuel economy. At low rpm, the VTEC™ intake valves follow a set of low-lift, short-duration cam lobes with timing that optimizes the flow of air and fuel into the cylinder. Additionally, the timing of each cylinder’s pair of intake valves is staggered and their lift is asymmetric to create a swirl effect within the combustion chamber, improving combustion.
As the engine accelerates through 4400 rpm (4800 rpm on Type S), the intake rocker arms transition to actuation by high-lift, long-duration cam lobes designed to optimize high-rpm output. VTEC™ delivers substantially more horsepower from 4600 rpm to 6300 rpm redline (6900 rpm redline on the TL Type S) and provides a considerable torque increase both at low and high engine speeds. The exclusive camshafts found in the TL Type S engine further increase power output by providing longer intake valve duration, more valve overlap and additional lift for the exhaust valves.
no that's right! stock VTEC engagement is start at 5200 rpm,
anyway do you guys know that V-AFC has an error when you
display the rpm meter. E.g when you at 2000 rpm, it will shows
2000 rpm more, which is 4000 rpm. But it won't effect any setting
from yours, just is a display problem. Well I checked mine setting
last night, I down the Vtec angagement at 4400 rpm. and the
throttle leads 2+ at 2000 rpm and 3+ at 3000 until ...... Vtec is on
I drop it to - 1 at 4400 and -2 and keep drop down until the red
region. And the pressure..... not really remenber, have to check it again ! ^ ^ ~~

-Rz-UA5 , so where do you live in Toronto? How can I realize you man? ^ ^~~ just want to say hI, when I see your car man! Anyway 3500 rpm is too low. So your TL is easy start with V-tec tho! WIll you ?
