Unhappy Bent a Type S rim today :(

The San Jose Sharks are tied with the St. Louis Blues 2 games a piece after winning 3-2 tonight. So I get in my car to come home from the Shark Tank, and while crossing over the railroad tracks, I hear this BOOM! and then I hear rolling noise. I pull over to find my tire flat.
"Damn", I think to myself, "these tires were kinda expensive."
I pull the wheel off and look closely and see a 1 inch wide dent in my rim and a 1" wide gash in the tire!!! Last i checked, Type-S rims were like $300 from the dealer right? anyone know anyone at a dealer that can get me a discount? Or any online place I can order ONE rim? Its pretty ugly. I'll try and post a pic in the daylight. For now i need to find a replacement rim and Dunlop SP9000.

I dont suppose anyone has an extra CL Type-S rim?

nah, I hit the railroad crossing pretty hard even tho I was going speed limit of like 30. I'm going back tomorrow to take pics of the crossing. i may be able to file a claim with the railroad for failure to maintain the crossing and have them pay for the damage.

Sorry to hear such a mishap. I would suggest to you to check out www.precisionwheel.com I believe that is the website. If not then check out www.wheeltechnologies.com. These companies fix bent and damaged rims. It cost around $125 a rim to repair back to OEM spec.

On my other car I bent my RIM it was like 500 for a new one, so I took it to this place where they bent it back for 150.
look for a place that could fix it. cheaper than buyin a new one. You couldnt even tell it was fixed.

Did you find out what it was that cut your tire and bent your rim? I hope it wasn't just the train tracks. Maybe something sharp was lying next to the tracks?

DAMN, thats a great price. Too bad I already got one through the dealer today. Couldn;t wait to get it. BUT there is some good now...I talked to people at Union Pacific Railroad, who maintains the tracks and crossing I went over. Their claims department said that as long as I can show the crossing was in bad shape, they'd reimburse me for my cost. so...I went out and got the rim and tire installed already. (I have lots of pics..I''l try and post a few tonight)
New bad news...back tire has a blown sidewall too, so fixing that tomorow. Damn I hope they reimburse me...this is getting to be a frustrating and expensive incident!!!
