I have a 2002TLS and just lately whenever I click the lock button, the car usually beeps, but lately it has been a really soft beep and I can barely hear it? Anyone know what the problem could be? thanks

 

Well, the standard keyless entry needs to have the lock button pressed twice to get a small beep out of it.

If you have an actual alarm in your car then you may get the chirp on the first press of the lock button. If it's not doing this then you may have just activated the silent feature. Usually pressing two of the buttons together will change it from silent to loud... usually either the lock and unlock of the lock and the trunk buttons.

 

I think mine too is not as loud as it used to be. I have no idea where the "beeper" is located. Anyone know if its a horn or a speaker or whatever? Maybe its got water in it or some dead creature.

 

Then it mysteriously fixed itself...

 

ive noticed mine gets quieter when its cold out

Nope, not any more. My 99 also had an extra horn for the alarm, but my 03 uses the same beeping mechanism and the regular horn when it is triggered.
