BBK can be costly...

Rotora BBK pads lasted me about 10k miles... granted, I drive my car pretty hard and I don't really understand the concept of early braking, but geez, 10k miles. And they cost just under 160 bucks for replacement.

Without further ado, here are the pictures.... after 10k miles, this is what happened to them, one of them down to the back plate... caught it just in time.

But fear not, the new ones are here.

Just wanted to bitch about the pads price and their longevity, or lack thereof. Despite all this, the new pads reminded me of how great these brakes are.

Congras to the club. Thats part of the awsome braking, the reduced life of teh pad. You need to check into other pads!

I had to get replacements right away, so I didn't have time to research this time, but I'm gonna look into other brands of pads that will fit these calipers.

I'll just leave you the words of the mighty Mos Def:

"Brook-nahm Vietnam / The heat is on
Put your joint on cruise
In a rush you scuff your brake shoes / just cool and relax
Take a breath, take ten paces back"

Pure adrenaline, whats the diff

with the original rotors and warping, if i get cross drilled an slotted rotors, does it STOP WARPING, or PROLONG the rotor to warp?

so if i get a BBK is it really REALLY WORTH IT?????

It will prolong warping but they can and will still be able to be warped. Is 1200$$+ worth it for a BBK?

Metal + heat cycles = warping inevitable

Any brakes can warp... it's just a matter of how high the threshold is, and how well you take care of them.

Is it worth the money? Yes, every penny.

I didn't like the way the rotora pads felt in the rain, so when mine wore out I went with Porterfields R4-S. $175 Well worth it.

... Prolong the rotor to warp? The rotors don't un-warp themselves over time...

Yes BBK's prolong the amount of time it takes the rotors to warp. they are larger rotors in dia and thicknes. No one ever said they unwarp.

Well "Prolonging warping" means that it keeps the rotor warped for a longer time than it would have. Sorry, I just hate sloppy English.

Prolong the amout o time it takes to warp. Not prolong how long they are warped. A BBK will take longer to warp for most drivers
