Battery for 2000 TL
Hello to everyone. I have been a member on this side for less then 2 month and really enjoy it. I like you guys, you are very helpfull. And once again I need your advice.
I am going to replace my original 2000 TL Delco battery. I've done some reading here about Optima redtop and Delco batteries.
Guys, what battery would you recommend me to buy (if you may give me a price range that would be great).
Thank you all in advance.

if you need it for nothing more than starting your car a sears diehard or like battery will suffice. if you dont mind spending the money then the optima red top is your best bet

Hi fsttyms1,
I checked out SEARS's web site and found 8 diffirent Red tops available for sale :-) What model do I need?
I also went to Optima web site, picked ACURA from the list and search came back with no matched. Not sure why.

fsttyms1, I went to Pep Boys and they checked their database for Optima batteries, but could not find anything for Acura 2000. I told them that 75/35 should fit, but they said that if Optima does not offer anything for Acura, then there's the reason for that.
I found one 75/35 with a plastic cover on the shelf. My question, do I put that cover on the bottom or the top of the battery?
Thanks

battery reemoval
Very basic question: How do you remove the cover from the battery on a 2003 TL? I see no bolts just something that looks like a washer. I just want to check the posts for corrosion but can't get to the battery. Thanks

If you don't feel like spending $110 on a Optima battery, pick up a cheap $40 one at Costco, they are made by Johnson Controls Inc. They not only make the Optimas, but they make Diehards, and the Honda OEM batteries that were in our car from the factory, as well as many many others....you cannot go wrong, a 3 year full replacement warranty at Costco as well.
