I am new here obviously and this is my first thread... I will be picking up my '03 TL-S, white with black interior with 37k on it this friday. I am very excited and want to add my own touch right away. In the past on my vehicle I have been a proponent of combining OEM new on the OEM old (ex. my '97 Grand Cherokee Limited has '07 Rubicon rims along with a couple other small touches). I am not a fan of overstating, just subtle touches.

My idea for this TL is this: With it being white and I HATE white w/chrome, buy '07 TL-S badges and powder coat them along with the front grill and door handles. Where I work, we get a lot powder coated and throwing it in with another job would not be too much money but I think it will turn out sexy. I would also lay out the badges just like on the new TL-S (Acura on top left of trunk instead of below the "A").

Input is welcome and if anyone has done this, can you post pictures. Thanks for your time and I am looking forward to my new ride!

P.S. What is this one called? I have seem like "SSM", etc... What is mine and why?

hmm i wouldnt do the door handles, not sure how it will look.oh and welcome to the forums

 

I vote for black chrome -- i think you can do this with a paint brush.

SSM = satin silver metallic

someone has that layout on their 2nd gen........minus the "acura" on the right side......i think it was a SSM........
