you can get one from autozone or advance auto, as they sell both OEM and generic.

the generic ones are cheaper, but you'll have to make your own connector as they only have bare wires at the end.

it's easier and faster to just get the OEM one from a discount parts place.

I just got a primary O2 sensor, new OEM, for 71.xx shipped from Tim at www.honda curaworld.com (delete the space).

If you have AIM, shoot him a message at Honda curaworld (delete the space again).

He's a great guy to work with. Good luck.

P.S. You don't want to use an aftermarket O2 sensor, as that will void your ECU warranty.

He doesn't list all the parts on the web site. Most of the times, you will have to ask him on AIM or via E-mail. He's only on AOL during work hours (usually 7 AM to 5 PM EST).

If you wrote him an E-mail, expect a reply very soon. He's easy to get in touch with.

For my O2 sensor, yes, it did come with the sensor itself, wiring, and the plug adapter. It also comes with the 2 white click-in holders that you plug into the black mounting plate. It's held in by one screw (10mm) and I recommend you use a wretchting wrench because there's not much room in there.

You can access the plugs from the top of the engine bay. You just have to locate it (it's between the engine block and the firewall); it's not hard. Unplug that first, then take off the mounting bracket, then unscrew the O2 sensor. After taking out and putting the O2 sensors 4 times (had to check the old one a couple of times for some testing), I found out it's the easiest way to do it, since the wires twist and tangle up. And reverse the procedure to put the new one in.

If your MIL only has one code (O2 sensor-related failure), then yes, it'll solve your problem. However, the MIL will stay on since it has stored the trouble code. I recommend that you unplug the battery before you start replacing the sensor, and by the time you're done with all the work and hook up the battery, the stored code will be erased. If it didn't work, just leave the battery unplugged overnight. Just have your radio anti-theft code handy.

Good luck and make sure the car has been sitting for about an hour if you drove it prior to the work. I didn't wait because patience is not one of my virtues, and I got burned twice on my left arm from the damn transmission.

Well, my first guess at why my O2 sensor died was because it was probably defective from the factory. It was slowly dying, and it was just a coincidence that it finally took its own life after I put the headers on. O2 sensors generally last a long time. No reason why it should die at 24k unless it was defective.

At any rate, that's just the cost of modifying your car. I'm just glad it was only an O2 sensor, not anything more serious that would've cost a lot of money to fix.

Runnin really rich could also kill an O2 sensor when it gets clogged with unburned fuel. The heater circuit is probably the first to go in this case, since it sits on the outer edge and is more susceptible to damage from running way rich.

What, like dropping the sensor on the ground? I don't think that would do any damage, really. Have you ever broken apart an o2 sensor? Everything looks pretty sturdy inside. I think you would have to slam the shit out of it against a concrete floor or something to break it.

hmmmm...im still trying to figure out why mine went bad...i got 70kmi on the '99, and it went bad right after the header change. I did run the car for a minute or so withought the cat/exhaust, right out of the downpipe but the O2 wasnt plugged in, it was under the car, not hanging but in a tight space so it woulnt fall. It was plugged after i finished.

By the way, i moved the car a bit withought the cat/ex and it was LOUD AS HELL!!! i felt like i had 2000hp and was ripping thru 12000RPM on a drag car.
