Bad Clutch Packs a result of failing tranny's?

When I asked the guy at the Acura Dealership about the bad tranny's he mentioned that the problem was fixed for 2003 and that it was a direct result of the Clutch Packs. Anyone hear of this?

Did he mention whether or not a TSB for '02s exists?

So what do they plan on doing for the Clutch Packs in '02 TLS?

Are they just gonna let people go on blowing there trannys and replacing them one by one. And if it is fixed then why are some individuals on there 3rd or 4th trannies?

You mean clutch PADS. In my understaning there are 5 clutch pads on our transmissions. 4 on 99 TL

Clutch pads basically allow each gear to engage or activate.

Hopefully acura finally found the problem and has figured out how to fixed it. Who has a failed 03 transmission ?????????

More Dealer lies...

The dealers no more know what is wrong with the trannys than we do. These guys are typically idiots, even the service manager that told me I didn't know what I was talking about because he had been working on cars for 30 years. I made a bet with him that the ECM wasn't going to fix the gravel sound in my valve covers. and I won... The Owner of the dealership ended up giving me a new car!

Somebody somewhere might actually know where the defect lies. But ask ten different dealers, and you'll get ten different stories. Under what circumstance were you asking the question??? Were you looking to buy a new 03? In that case, they'd say anything...

WE ALREADY KNOW WE'VE HAD A COUPLE OF 03TLS on this forum WITH BLOWN TRANNYS. so much for that theory...

I'm definitely NOT flaming you Bo Jangles, I'd love to think that they have actually found a fix. I just don't buy it... Again, I'd love to believe it. Because If that were the case, then those of us 02 owners that are unlucky enough to fall into the granny tranny disaster could then at least have FULL confidence in the fact that our replacement WOULD NOT FAIL AGAIN.... Right????
