Backup camera power? Quick Help!!
I am currently installing my reverse camera. I am working on cutting out a hole in the license plate and the bumper right behind it to place my reverse camera in. While my Dremel battery was recharging, I was looking at the camera and I need to find a power source at the rear bumper.
The camera needs to get power from somewhere, as it has a black and red wire along with the video cable. Where should I tap into to get power for the camera? I am assuming somewhere on the license plate light wiring but which two wires do I need to hook up to?

I am thinking about taking a few pictures but it is pretty simple. I already had wires running for my system so I just ran the RCA all the way back from the head unit the same track as all the other wires. I used the RCAs from my subwoofer to help fish the wires through from the back seat area to the trunk.
You take the RCA wire (from the head unit) and feed it through a grommet where the wires go through for your license plate light. I am going to feed the power wire from the camera back through the hole and do the connection inside the car so it stays dry.
I undid the casing around the license plate light and there are only two wires going to it, power and ground (red and black). I am hooking to these so they will be on all the time. With my head unit there is no way for it to switch when it gets in reverse, so I want to have it on all the time and can even use it as a rear view mirror.
I might take a few pictures doing this, but everything is pretty much self explanitory.
