You reuse the Accords converter.

^^That's what I did; as well as almost everyone else on this forum who have done the swap.

So what does the tl feel like with the av6 trans, faster/slower/MPG? Are the gear ratios the same or what?

Someone posted the ratios somewhere, I think in the official AV6 thread. If I remember correctly the ratios looked more inline (identical, I think) to the Ody 5-spd trans. I recall someone saying that one of the gears is longer (3rd? 4th?) which gives you more snappy passing ability on the freeway.

This is all based on memory.

With the S gear ratios would the tl-p be a dog/slow? The S has 30 more hp.

Cant really say? Perhaps someone with the AV6 TL-p could chime in on how 4th/5th feels.

Probably not? The '06-'07 V-6 accords J30A5 don't have that much hp compared to the TL-S, 244bhp vs the TL-P 220hp (not sure if the numbers are normalized or not)

No matter if you have TL S or TL P this trans will be better than the factory trans.

In which way does it compare to the TL-S which makes it better? Since the trans ratios are the same the only thing that can be different is the shift feel.

Shift feel is much different due to different pressure switches plus longevity will be obviously better.

My AV6 transmission doesn't seem to shift any differently than my TL-S one did before it crapped out, but then again, I did replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches not too long before I ended up doing the trans swap.

Yah I figure it out that much.. Main difference is shift feel but than can be felt with different fluids already on our original trans.

Now the ratios would be nice to know what's up with the TL-p guys.

^ The TL-P and TL-S transmissions do not have the same 4th and 5th gear ratios. The below is taken directly from the shop manual:

TL-P

4th - 0.653
5th - 0.470

TL-S

4th - 0.727
5th - 0.520

The AV6 trans has the same gear ratios as the TL-S trans.

You are correct. I've checked with my manual too.

So disregard the TL/CL Type S above. So sorry.
