It is possible and not harmful to shift from automatic to the ss mode while driving?

 

SEVIERJ, It's not at all harmful to switch from auto to SS while driving. I do it all the time if I come to a hill and want to hold a gear or on winding roads when you want to downshift for a corner. No problem.

I use sports shift all the time........ well except when I have to pick up the phone, handing my gf's hand who's sitting beside me, or babababa..........

but Yet, you can switch back and forth while driving, no problem.....

 

I am 100% sure this is why the sport -shift is made the way it is. Anytime you wan't to change from auto to ss mode is fine or back the other way. The computer will not let anything happen. This is why the computer selects the correct gear for the speed that you are driving. When you change from auto D5 to sport- shift the the computer selects the correct gear.
