autolock

i have asked this before, but now that there are a lot more members on this board, what is everyone's thought on the autolock? the security device that clamps onto your brake pedal. has anyone heard anything bad about it? does it actually work or is it like the club, a joke?...

Well, you know nothing is impossible but they'd have a hell of a hard time cutting the brake pedal unlike the butter soft steering wheel that the useless club locks up.

I've been using it on my TL since I got it but I haven't heard ANY news on these regarding it's effectiveness. Ofcourse the thief can go about it by breaking the lock etc but I honestly don't know how hard or easy it may be for him.

One thing I'm pretty sure of is that it is harder then the club to remove.

I have it too! I think it is a great antitheft device compared to the club. Thieves will think twice before they start driving the car away.

I've got 3 of them (for 3 different cars), thankfully they haven't been field tested, but they should be better than the club, I've known many many people who's cars got stolen with the club.

I have one also, but if a they really want your car, they will find a way. On the TL, there's a little opening by the shifter where you stick your key there so you can shift the car without having the car running, well, once you do that, the car can be moved by a tow truck or something. Of course, that would be like hardcore. I once put the Autolock on my Civic and I was able to start the car.

All in all, I think it's good to have than not to have.
