audio system install... what should i expect to pay?
what needs to be installed:
separates upfront
speakers in the back doors
sub amp
4 channel amp
remote bass control
i have ALL the parts needed to do it so that should save a few $$$.

it varies from store to store, just call one up...we can only guess or tell you what we paid. I paid around $500 including the box for my install (very good deal). I was quoted anywhere from that to over $1000. I went with the shop that did it because the owner has a TLS and they knew what they were doing. Most places I talked too had no idea about our cars

^^^^agreed, go to a place that is familiar with Acura's especially the TL. Are you getting an aftermarket HU or do you have one? I would suggest getting an alpine CDA, pioneer premier, high-end clarion or eclipse HU and you will be very happy. Personally I like Alpine CDA's the best, best bang for the buck IMO and very reliable too.

honestly just cut the opening bigger yourself. I assume you bought 6.5" components for the front and 6.5" coaxials for the rear. if you bought 5.25" you wouldn't have to cut anything. What ohm are the speakers you bought BTW?

a bunch of people on a local car forum have used the place and they were real happy with their work.
as a safety measure i'm going to email the guy several links from this site about taking apart interior and the audio diagrams.

See if you can go onto other car forum with more cars, and ask where people had stuff installed in the Austin area. If you take a survey of enough car forums, you can figure out which shop will do a good job for how much.
