Traction on them is incredible. My coworker has an S4 Avant and mashed the throttle while sitting at an intersection before making a left turn. Tires absolutely, positively grabbed the pavement and the car took off with 4 people.

But still, I wouldn't put them in M3 league. Just a slight notch below.

thats why its better to lease german cars than to buy them... the electronics go out so fast its not even funny.

but as the rule goes, people who buy audis usually buy them for a couple of reasons...
1. cheaper cuz the bimmer wud run 4-5more (cant afford it??)
2. the quattro system
3. to be different

granted that audis are great cars liek bimmers, but bimmers are performance luxury and audi is more luxury performance... they are trying to be like BMW but with the AWD platform they cant outhandle BMW. they wud need to go to RWD but they wont ever do that -- big reason to buy audi is the AWD quattro.

Individual models are different. I had an Audi model-80 quattro that my wife and I put 80k miles on with zero(nada, zilch) defects or unscheduled trips back to the dealer. My BMW Ultimate Driving Machine went back to the dealer 44(forty-four) times in four years. Never in this life will I ever actually pay money to own a goddamned BMW. If I sound bitter and screwed well...

Nah bro, my dad had a 2002 ML 320 and it went into the shop over 6 times because the climate control kept breaking. The dealer had to give us a deal on another car becuase of lemon law. Now hes got a 2002 E 320. I my self would rather buy a BMW than a Benz any day. My .02

No way. Talk to any MB dealership and, if they're honest, they'll tell you about the "little problems" that plague MB cars.

Seen it happen to E320 all the way up to CL600.

From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!
I personally like the look of the new "A" cars. They seem to be selling like hot cakes here in honolulu. I've probably seen as many of the new models as I have seen TL's on the road! BTW Value I saw you on Nimitz yesterday your car is looking tight!

Benz has its problems to, the only diffence is that if its there, its ganna be on all their cars, unlike japanese cars, some may have a problem here, some there,

like their AC, my friends 94 e class, and another friends 96 e-class, as well as my GF dad's old 98 S-class all had AC problems, the AC would be cold for 5 min and turn into hot air.

as far as audi and bimmers go, i drove a friend's 2002 1.8t quattro, and i really think its much better then the current 3 series sedan( the bimmer i drove was a 328 i think), the whole car felt more solid then the bimmer as well (botht the interier built quality and ride), his mom also have a 2002 5 series, and i find the seats in the audi much more suitable, (and im 6'2 @ 250 lbs)

if i could pick 1 of the two for free id take the bimmer, just cas its a bimmer and its avalible in coupe, sedanwise, i'd take the audi, especailly if i had to pay from my pocket.

but i'd still take an M3 over S4

That's why AWD rocks.

I can't understand how some people say the M3's RWD give better performance. Sure it's fun to overstear and all, but the AWD will give you reliable consistent performace. Unless you really know what you're doing and can drive the M3 hard without losing grip (that's probably very few of us) the Audi would be my choice.

RWD is fun if you know how to drift. AWD is better to hug the corners and very tough to drift into and out of a corner.
