Attn: Wayne or Jens

Do you know if the 01' device that makes the beeping noise when you lock the car is compatible with the 99 TL? I want to make my 99 make the same noise when it locks

Mafiosi- try pushing the lock button 2 times- one right after the other. I believe this will make the alarm give a beep to let you know that the auto- arm mode is activated. that is the beep you hear from the newer ones. Try it and see. I don't have a 99 here right now to try it on- I know it works on the 00 and up.

Wayne, I think he wants to know if you can take the alarm horn off of a 00/01 TL and put it on a 99. The 99's alarm horn sounds wimpy.

yep, the 99's have a corny honking noise and I was looking for something like a beep, like the newer TL's. I dunno if the thing is interchangable, think theres any way to make it work?

BTW also wayne, do you think that the 1.7EL FOB will work for the 99'01 TL's? I doubt they have memory seats so it might work right?

Someone else already asked that question (i believe) and the majority of the responses were no you can't.

Ok, I think I missed something, is there an option I can add to my '01 to make it make a louder sound when I arm the car (without having to depress the arm button twice)?

I want the same thing mainly because the alarm horn on the 99's is mounted right where the CAI is supposed to go and I have to relocate it anyway.

yea..i'm really suprised that my TL has a loud a** horn. it sounds like the bimmers. i was expecting a "roadrunner" type sound cuz most japanese cars have that. love the horn though, use it a lot.

hmmm i was just reading that the RL had the same keyless remote than the EL's too, Jens or wayne any ideas?? Hopefully either the EL or the RL's remote would work, also is there a way you can find out about the locking beep device?

I don't think the RL's have the same remote because the 2002's are supposed to have memory seats I think. Also, if they don't the probably still have the old style remote...
