Question ATTN: Anyone who does not have the factory (OEM) body kit.

I am just curious, Why didn't you install the factory body kit on your TL?? It comes factory painted + it's easy 2 install + it costs only $1000. IMHO it is the best looking factory kit American Honda has designed yet and makes the TL look phenominal next to the competition.

P.S. Anyone w/ a WW, Value, Mugen or Blaze kit does not qualify for replying to this topic - I know your reasoning.

I too was scared of clearance before I got my kit... but I've had it for a couple months now and I've never scraped it. Seattle is a very hilly place too. I actually scraped the bottom of my car before I got the kit doing somethign stupid while turning around. Learned my lesson, let me tell you. Of course, I drive like its lowered now, just to practice for when it actually is lowered.

Let's just say that I don't have enough vitamine M (read ca$h)

My car is leased and I am not sure if I will keep it when my lease is over. I am getting quite a lot problems with this car.

But when I decide that I will buy it when my lease is over. I will REALLY fix it up. Not only will I get the body kit, but Brembo brake, I/H/E, rim & tires, sway... you name it...

For me, I either keep my car stock, or I 'll put on every single mod I can find on it.

I've seen many cars in my area with ground effects kits. Unless they just put them on, they are typically scarred and bent from parking curbs, dips when leaving driveways, hitting small animals, etc.

I originally got my kit to set my car apart from the other TL's that were on the road. Most people that see my car and the kit don't even realize that its a TL. After they realize that it is a TL they compliment how good the kit looks. IMO it really adds a sporty and more aggressive look to the car, thats why i got it.

I knew that I would end up lowering the car eventually and I really didn't want to worry about ground clearance. My last car was lowered and I couldn't even go over speed bumbs without scraping.

Then you have the car wash factor. Car washes won't let you in if you don't have a certain amount of clearance under your car. I just didn't want to worry about these things.

Nothing against the kits, but I love the way my car looks.

I'm currently in the process of buying the kit, to set myself apart from the other red TL's i'm starting to see, plus after seeing FTM-1's kit, i felt my car would look a lot better.

The kit is worth it! Trust me. Don't worry about scrapping, especially if you aren't lowered. Even then - just be careful!
