Well Im working on the new version... I borrowed my friends disk, and I have ripped it to my hard drive on my desktop, but when i go to burn it its larger than a blank DVD+R. So I'm hoping to buy a Dual-layer Disk and burn it to that. Let me know if anyone else has done this?

I know that the new version requires a dual layer disk and burner as it is more than 4.7 gig which is what a single layer dvd holds.

I have all the required peices and will try to find time to try this tonight. I bought the newest dvd and I have a dual layer burner and dual layer disk. i just have to find the time to do this. I will report back when i know.

I tried to make one few month ago but it turned out unreadable. If anyone sucessfully creates a backup, please let us know which brand of media you use.

Did you try to Directly Disk Copy (Disk to Disk) or did you use a program and rip it to your hard drive first then burn to a cd... Or directly copy files from your Acura DVD to hard drive, and then just place the files onto your blank DVD? Just curious what you guys have tried?

It was long time ago. I think it was ripped to the hard drive first then burned to the disc. It was read fine from the computer but not the nav unit. I am pretty sure it is the type of media that was used. I heard other said the nav unit reads better with DVD-R DL disc.
